In the 80s traditional flush casement windows were sadly replaced with storm-proof casement windows because they were simpler and cheaper to make and offered better protection from the elements. Thankfully that has now changed; our flush casement windows have modern weather seal and double glazed units. You can now enjoy the comfort of a modern window but keep the look of a traditional one.
Whether they are side hung, top hung or a fixed casement we can make them to your specification or by design.
Flush casement windows come factory finished with three coats of microporous paint in the colour of your choice so there is no need for further decoration after installation.
We love box sash windows, they are graceful, elegant and form part of our architectural identity in the UK. Traditionally, however, they have rattled, caused drafts, warped over time and then become difficult to operate.
Our sash windows are different; we use Accoya timber to ensure stability for on-going operation, and 50-year rot resistance. We use double glazing as standard and top quality draft proofing to keep you warm, reduce your energy bills and help block out unwanted noise from outside.
For a traditional look and sliding mechanism that will last decades, we still use pullies, cords and weights. We keep our timber frames, sashes and glazing bars as slim as possible to retain the character of your home.
Garage doors don’t have to be screechy metal up and over doors. We can make attractive, functional, strong and safe timber garage doors to your specification or by design. We will always ensure that they are sympathetic to the surroundings and in-keeping with your property without compromising on security.
Finished in the paint colour or oil/ varnish of your choice. We will discuss with you which hinges, handles and locks you would like us to source and fit.
Your front door is a big deal; whether you are welcoming people in, keeping people out or making an impression on passers-by. Our hardwood doors will offer the reassuring security, solidity and strength that you need whilst retaining the charm and style of your entrance.
If you are replacing an existing door we can copy it like-for-like, re-use existing door furniture and letter boxes or fit all new ones and paint it in whatever colour you choose.
We make our doors from Sapele hardwood and finish them with three coats of microporous paint or the finish of your choice.
For those who aren’t in the know; a Venetian Sash window is divided by mullions in to three or more openings where the outer panes are fixed and the centre sash slides open. The cords for hanging the centre pair of sashes are taken through the top of the mullions over pulleys into the side boxings. Complicated, isn’t it?
What could be nicer than sitting curled up in an arm chair or window seat in a bay window, enjoying the sun streaming through to you on three sides.
We can make replacement bay windows or new, either following your architect’s drawings or designed by Ryan in discussion with you. He can recommend which sashes should open, which should be fixed and what type of glazing bar arrangement will suit the window and property, whilst maximising the in-coming light.
French doors can transform a room by letting in more light, and on fine days, opening them up and letting the outside in.
We make replacement or new French Doors with a glazing bar arrangement complimentary to the other windows in your house.
Top quality draft seal, double glazing, timber and ironmongery ensure the doors operate smoothly and meet whatever the weather. They will make the room warmer and quieter and look timeless.
